The Nagaland Private Doctors Association (NPDA) will be joining the nationwide solidarity strike today in protest against the murder and rape of a physician at RG Kar Medical College, Kolkata. In this regard, it has announced that all non essential health services will be closed today from 6 am to 6 pm.

“With reference to the RG Kar Medical College incidence due to rape and murder of Chest Medicine PG student and as per the directives of IMA HO’s letter No.IMA/HSG/Press/06-2/2024 Dated 15/03/2024 and IMA-NSB/1/GenCorrs/2024-25Dated 15/08/2024, all the Private Doctors in Nagaland who are practicing modern medicine are requested to join the Nation wide 12 hours solidarity strike on 17th Aug 2024 from 6am to 6 pm by closing all the Non-Essential health services like OPD and elective surgeries,” informed the NPDA in a circular.
However, it noted that essential and emergency services will be exempted.
