Nagaland Secretariat welcomes new recruits

Kohima: Men folks urged to wear something traditional on Wednesdays, taking inspiration from ‘Mekhela Wednesday’

An introductory program of the 52nd batch of the Nagaland Secretariat Service cum general body meeting was held at Secretariat Conference Hall, Kohima, DIPR informed on Wednesday.

Secretary AH&VS, Y Renbothung Tsopoe welcoming the newly recruits to the Nagaland Secretariat Service family said that Nagaland Civil Secretariat is the administrative hub or central nerve of the state government in Nagaland and NSS cadres are considered as the backbone in the secretariat. He called on the members to perform and deliver and also to be regular, dedicated and to be updated with all the important notifications, office memorandums and orders.

Tsopoe also reminded the members that serving the public should be the motto of all government servants as each one of us are recruited by the government to do so. He also further emphasized on complying with the government orders and to attend training programs to deliver better service to the government.

President NSSA, Chubasangla Longkumer delivering her welcome note encouraged the members to have the spirit of initiating things and being innovative. She further added that they should start looking beyond their files and ignite the spirit of inquisitiveness and look into the areas which may require their attention wherever they are placed.

Also highlighting on the workplace initiative called ‘Mekhela Wednesday’, Longkumer said that it has gone beyond the Nagaland Civil Secretariat and encouraged all the women to take the movement forward as such initiative will add value to themselves and to the service that they are serving. She also called on the men folks to join the movement and wear something traditional on Wednesdays and take the workplace initiative forward.

Vedezo Nienu, representative of the new batch, speaking at the function said that they are immensely proud to be part of the prestigious service as the service is supposed to be the custodian and repository of all the rich traditions precedence and rules. He also thanked the Nagaland Secretariat Service Association executive members for welcoming the newest batch to the family with a grand function.

Assistant Secretary NSSA, Hosea Seb chaired the program and NSSA music club presented a special song.
