North East Games 2024: Nagaland and Manipur battle for top slot on Day 3

Kohima: Nagaland on first place again with total of 31 Gold, 17 Silver, and 24 Bronze medals

After slipping to the second place in the tally, Nagaland again retained the top position at the end of Day-3 at the 3rd North East Games 2024. Earlier in the day, Manipur, the overall champion of both the 2018 and 2022 of the erstwhile North East Olympic Games, was on top of host Nagaland.

By day end, Nagaland was on first place again with a total of 31 Gold, 17 Silver, and 24 Bronze medals, bringing their total to 72 while Manipur has a total of 69 medals, including 29 Gold, 18 Silver, and 22 Bronze.

Assam maintained its strong presence in third place with a total of 78 medals, consisting of 21 Gold, 30 Silver, and 27 Bronze.

As the competition progresses and the games near their conclusion, spectators are on the edge of their seats, witnessing a thrilling battle for the top spot. Nagaland’s resurgence has injected an extra layer of excitement into the event, intensifying the race for victory, Nagaland Olympic Association has said on Thursday.
