The Nagaland Transparency Public Rights Advocacy and Direct Action Organisation (NTPRADAO) has served 15 days ultimatum to the Department of Food and Civil Supplies demanding the declaration of PHH scheme tender result. In a press release issued on November 25, the NTPRADAO stated that it has appealed the Department to urgently process the official papers for declaring the PHH Tender floated on March 7, 2024, based on urgent public interest where they were approached multiple times by aggrieved tenderers.
“NTPRADAO, after getting all the relevant feedback and case study, sums up that it has been around 08 months since the tender for the Priority House Hold (PHH) transportation scheme for the financial year 2024-25 was announced. However, the tenders remain undeclared, which has created an environment of uncertainty amongst all the 109 applicants. It is being reliably learnt that some tender applicants have borrowed money on interest to participate in the 10 lakhs each tendering process, causing much heart-burn,” stated the Organisation.

The NTPRADAO also expressed suspicion of “a sinister design to accumulate the total tender amount in a fixed deposit by the department, amounting to 10 crores 90 lakhs, which by now must have yielded around Rs. 57,55,200/-(Fifty Seven Lakhs Fifty Five Thousand and Two Hundred only) at 6.6% FD interest Per Month for 8 months.”
Upon expiry of the 15 Days period w.e.f November 26, the NTPRADAO cautioned that it will immediately go for “public gherao” and totally “block in-out in front of the F&CS HQ.Dimapur office” until a timely redressal and the latest update on the status of tender result is provided.
“Considering the upcoming Hornbill Festival from 1st to 10th December, 2024 with an expected inflow of lakhs of visitors both from mainland India and abroad; the NTPRADAO shall embark on its stated action only after the Hornbill Festival gets over,” stated the Organisation.
It further affirmed that It is taking up such issues as it concerns “lakhs and lakhs” of the public who are the ultimate beneficiaries of the National Food Secunty Act, 2013 for free Rice, Sugar. Wheat. Pulses etc.
