In light of the case against Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Tourism and Higher Education in the Bombay High Court over investment disputes, the Rising People’s Party (RPP) has said that it is imperative for the Government of Nagaland to take cognizance of the case and drop Along from the Council of Ministers.

The Party also criticized the Along for brushing off the case involving ₹ 125 crores as “Normal business dispute”.

Further, condemning the State BJP for its silence on the matter, the RPP accused it of double standard as well and reminded the Party of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for “Corruption-free India”.

Furthermore, the Rising People’s Party has welcomed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) attaching the properties of two Naga contractors involved in construction of the new Kohima High Court complex. “For the first time the ED has taken cognizance of corruption in the state and the citizens of this harried state welcomes this news with jubilation” it said while urging the ED to carry this case involving ten PWD Engineers and six contractors to its logical conclusion.

The RPP appealed to the Chief Miniter to give persecution sanction to the CBI with regard to the involvement of ten PWD state officials without delay and stated that the refusal to give the persecution sanction “gives the impression that the politicians fear implication as well.”
