Sakraba Youth Organisation 48th General Session underway

Sakraba: During the three-day event, four Khels – Lohe, Hesuh, Basa ‘A’ and Basa ‘B’ – will be competing in various sport disciplines. The closing ceremony will be held on 10 December .

The 48th General Session of the Sakraba Youth Organisation (SYO) is underway at Local Ground, Sakraba Village in Phek district.

Chuba Ozukum, Consultant, Department of Justice and Law, Government of Nagaland graced the opening ceremony as the inaugural guest. In his address, he stated that sport is gaining popularity in present society not just in winning medals but also with many benefits for human.

He maintained that many also rose from rural and humble beginnings and inspired the youth to be determined to achieve greatness in their life and to be hard working and aim high.

Ozukum also challenged the village to raise a leader from the village to have a representative at the legislative assembly and further carry the village forward in development and progress.

Furthermore, he also underlined the need for preservation and promotion of indigenous sports rather than imitation of other sports.

Earlier, the presidential address was delivered by Nupoyi D Vadeo while a folk dance was performed by the Sunday School students of Sakraba Baptist Church (SBC). The programme was chaired by Lehu Lohe.
