Advisor, Horticulture & Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan inaugurated the Sub-Divisional Horticulture Office at Meluri on 18 August 2022.

Yanthan expressed his happiness at the inauguration of the new SDH Office at Meluri. He stated that the present government focuses much on Agri & allied sector, where horticulture is a major component. He emphasized that with climatic change and with new technological inputs, farming should not only be a means for sustenance but must act as a business sector whereby mass production with less labor should be targeted.

MLA, Yitachu in his speech stated that the most important element of economy for the Nagas is agriculture.

Addl. Director, Horticulture Y. Bongti Konyak and President, Meluri Area Public Organization, Rholetho Ngouri also spoke during the programme.

Dedicatory Prayer was pronounced by Pastor, MVBC, Rev. Müluote Nyuwi. Welcome address and vote of thanks were delivered by Tsalimse Sangtam, EAC Meluri and Senkalemba P, DHO Phek respectively.
