The Voluntary Blood Donors Association Nagaland (VBDAN) in collaboration with Nagaland Institute of Medical Science & Research (NIMSR) observed World Blood Donors day at NIMSR Kohima on June 18.

Speaking at the function as a special guest, Director Tourism Veyielo Doulo said blood donation is crucial for saving lives and supporting various medical treatments as blood cannot be artificially manufactured and is essential for patients undergoing surgery, battling illnesses, or recovering from injuries. Regular blood donations help maintain a stable blood supply, ensuring that hospitals and medical centres can meet the constant demand for blood transfusions.
