The Zhimomi Hoho celebrated the 75th anniversary of its inception in Sheyipu Village, Zunheboto today under the theme ‘Nipu-Nisu Nguagha Pekichepu’ (Persisting Our Forefathers Charisma).
Thousands of clan members from different parts of the state attended the anniversary gathering.
The one-day celebration began with the inauguration of the 75th Anniversary Monolith which was chaired by G Ikuto Zhimomi, chairman of the 75th Anniversary Planning Board.
A prayer of dedication was pronounced by Rev Hukugha Zhimomi, Executive Secretary, SBAK (Nito Mount) followed by the inauguration of the monolith by Dr H S Rotokha and the release of the 75th anniversary balloons.
A Sumi War Dance (Aphilo Kuwo) was performed by men of the Lizu Joint Council to honour the occasion. A grand feast then followed which was given by the host village before the main programme to commemorate the 75th anniversary.
The main programme was held inside a specially made ‘pandal hall’ put up by Sheyipu village at the village ground area. The programme was chaired by Ino Phutoshe Zhimomi, joint secretary of Zhimomi Hoho along with Akito A Zhimomi as the recorder.
A Souvenir (Vesulho), published to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Zhimomi Hoho, was released by Ino Azheto Zhimomi, MLA.

Before the release, Ino T Inavi Zhimo, convenor of the Editorial Committee, gave an outline about the contents and purpose of the ‘Vesulho.’
A special song was presented by Ili Elli Zhimomi which enthralled the gathering.
Presentations to honour the past and present officials of Zhimomi Hoho as well as programme participants were led by Ino Phukato Zhimomi, General Secretary, Zhimomi Hoho.
A special poem called ‘Zhimomi Leshe’ was presented by octogenarian Ino Bohovi Zhimomi, Village Chief of Sheyipu village.

Special greetings and short messages were shared by Azheto Zhimomi, MLA and I Nikheto Jimomi, president of Sumi Hoho. Both the speakers dwelled on the importance of knowing the roots of existence and the purpose of brotherhood to broaden our outlook and to strive for peaceful coexistence with other clans for the overall growth of Sumi tribe in particular and Nagas in general.
The invocation was pronounced by Rev P Hotokhu Zhimomi, former ES of SABAK, while Ino Hetovi Zhimomi, Head GB of Sheyipu village, gave the welcome address.

The women folk of Sheyipu village presented a welcome song in the form of ‘Thighale’ followed by the presidential address from Ahovi Zhimomi, president of Zhimomi Hoho.
A special prayer for blessings upon the Zhimomi clan was led by Rev Dr Yehevi Jimomi. The vote of thanks was delivered by Capt G Khekavi Zhimomi, vice president of Zhimomi Hoho. The program concluded with the benediction by Aboka Zhimomi, pastor of Sheyipu Baptist Church.
