Commemorating 25 Years of Kargil War Victory in 1999 and in remembrance of the fallen brave Naga heroes, the 2nd Naga Regiment organized a Bike Expedition at WW II Cemetery in Kohima on 1st July 2023, a DIPR report stated.
Advisor for Water Resources, GON, Tongpang Ozukum, while speaking as a special guest said that brave Naga soldiers are distinct from others and the supreme sacrifice they had made will be remembered always in Indian history. He also encouraged the soldiers to keep up the distinct character and discipline they possess and said that the national flag is the biggest honour for their sacrifice that the country can give to a soldier.
He wished the expedition team a safe ride and also urged the brave Naga soldiers to extend a salute from the Nagas to the veer Naris and tell about the brave hearts of the Nagas to others wherever they go. The advisor also conveyed the good wishes extended from the CMO office.

The Advisor was accompanied by local MLA, Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhutso.
The flag-off of the Bike Expedition will be held at Assam Rifles Helipad on 2nd July 2023 by Inspector General of Assam Rifles (N) Vikas Lakhera and during the flag-off ceremony, the Soil of Kargil will be handed over to Veer Naris (next of kins) of war heroes.
Presently, the 2nd Naga Regiment are stationed at their Hqs at Ladakh. CO 164 Naga TA, Col. Gaurav Singh, SC SM, CO 2 Naga Regiment, SS Gusain, and other officers were part of the program. 2 ic 2 Naga Regiment, Lt Col. Will led the expedition team.
The team will start from Kohima on 2nd July and reach Kargil on 26th July 2023 (Kargil Diwas) traveling around 3700 km with a theme “KARGIL VICTORY RIDE.”
