On the eve of the 74th Republic Day, the Shamator Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North)/HQ 7 Sector AR organised a free blood group test at St Xavier’s School in Shamator district.

During the event, the Shamatore Battalion organised a lecture cum drive keeping in view International Education Day, celebrated on 24 January, with an aim of educating children about necessity and requirements of knowing one’s own and various other blood groups, offering them an insight into human autonomy.

Altogether, 68 students, two teachers and five civilians were given the blood group test.

The initiative and commitment of the Assam Rifles were highly appreciated by Father John Poji, principal of St Xavier School who expressed his heartfelt gratitude and thankfulness to the Battalion for their kind gesture.
