Nagaland State Election 2023: No nominations filed on first day

Kohima: The last date of filing nomination will be 7 February, which will be followed by the scrutiny of nominations the next day

The process for nomination of candidature for the ensuing general election to the 60 Assembly constituency seats in the State of Nagaland began with the gazette notification being issued today.

“No nominations have been filed today from the 60 Assembly constituency,” informed Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) V Shashank Shekhar to NTN.

The notification for election was made under sub-Section (2) of Section 15 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), published in the official Gazette of the State on 31 January 2023, to elect members to the Legislative Assembly of the State, in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the Rules and Orders.

The last date of filing nomination will be 7 February, which will be followed by the scrutiny of nominations the next day.

The last date of nominations will be 10 February.
