An over speeding truck met with an accident at Purana Bazar police point in Dimapur around 9 pm on Friday night.

According to sources, the driver of the truck was allegedly drunk. The truck was coming from Guwahati and on its way to Manipur when the incident occurred.

The impact destroyed the four-lane divider and traffic police point on the highway.

It may be mentioned that the four-lane stretch of the National Highway from Purana Bazar to Chümoukedima has witnessed several accidents relating to drunk driving and over speeding in recent months.
