It is firm and clear that the BJP and NDPP is ensuring that nothing falls short to ensure that the NDPP-BJP coalition retains power in the ensuing Nagaland assembly election. BJP national president JP Nadda’s arrival in the poll bound state to begin the joint campaign with the NDPP is a clear testimony to this.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio accorded a warm welcome to Nadda upon his arrival at the Capital Cultural Hall to kick off the joint campaign with the motto of Nagaland, ‘Towards a State of Excellence’.
Addressing BJP, NDPP workers, JP Nadda said, “It is a matter of great opportunity for me to launch the joint campaign. I pay my respects and I feel great about the rich culture of Nagaland and how they have preserved their language, culture.”

In what can be termed as a big statement, JP Nadda said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is enthusiastic in the solution for Naga issue. We have tried our level best, and it has come to the final stage.”
Apart from this JP Nadda also made a significant statement on the demand for a separate statehood of Frontier Nagaland by the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) and said that the promises made by the Centre will surely be fulfilled.
In this context Nadda said, “For ENPO, discussions have been done and whatever commitments have been given by the Home Minister we will go in that line in letter and spirit. BJP is a national party which only understands the national commitment with regional aspirations.”
Launching a scathing attack on the previous government (Congress at the Centre), Nadda said, “I can also say Nagaland was ignored by the previous government.”
Highlighting the point that there was serious law and order situation until the NDPP-BJP coalition came to power, Nadda said, “5 years back Nagaland was known for bandh, blockade, insurgency, abduction and targeted killings.”
Nadda lauded Chief Minister Rio and said,”But, now Nagaland is a place of peace, prosperity and development which has taken place during Rio’s leadership.”
“Election and voting are not meant to be decided on flimsy ground. It needs a serious deliberation on who should take the realms of the power,” Nadda added.
The BJP national president also pointed out about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unwavering commitment for the welfare of the entire Northeast as well as Nagaland.
JP Nadda also affirmed that incidents of violence have gone down drastically by upto 74% under the leadership of CM Neiphiu Rio and deputy Chief Minister Y Patton.
Not only this, Nadda also said that the BJP-led Centre is committed to ramp up infrastructure in the poll bound state, as he referred to the fact that Rs 3235 crore has been already sanctioned for the development of National Highways in Nagaland.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio at the onset said, “NDPP-BJP alliance is on a strong ground. We are confident to run the affairs in the next term. We will come back with thumping majority which will cross 40 seats.”
Rio also mentioned, “This joint campaign will bring us closer and more understanding.”
Besides that, the CM during his address also expressed his gratitude to the BJP national president and thanked particularly Nadda for “taking time out to visit us and kick off the campaign for election in Nagaland.”
Rio also lauded the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and JP Nadda for reposing trust on his leadership.
“I thank PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and JP Nadda for their faith reposed on us and particularly on me. It is with your support and ensuring a firm coalition between NDPP and BJP,” he said.

Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader, Y. Patton, in his brief address, maintained that the people of Nagaland are happy with the progress and developments taking place in all nook and corner in the recent times.
They have put their trust in the Modi-led government, which has brought development to the remotest parts of the country, and I am confident that people will give their mandate and vote us to power once again with resounding victory, added Patton.

He also stated that the BJP- NDPP Alliance is a popular government and has completed five years under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio. Stating this he pointed out that earlier in Nagaland, they could not give a stable government but during the last tenure of NDPP-BJP Alliance, they have worked together for peace and development in our state.
Meanwhile, on law-and-order situation he said, the overall Law and Order situation has also improved, and crime rate has come down drastically.

The BJP- NDPP Alliance is time tested and is set to open another innings together and we look forward to do better by charting out clear cut policies, even as we envision for a New Nagaland. A Nagaland that is, self-reliant, resilient, and relevant, said Patton.
Notably Patyon also said that Nagaland is a small state, yet it has its various complexities and with the support of the government at the Centre, the state can hammer out all the obstacles and lead the state to greater heights along with the rest of the states in the country.
Further, he assured the BJP national President JP Nadda that during this forthcoming election, the Alliance will do better than last time and get absolute majority to form the government.
