BZ Entertainment, a leading Drama and Film Society, announced a historic milestone in its mission to promote HIV awareness and combat stigma in Nagaland. In collaboration with the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS), BZ Entertainment has successfully concluded 121 street play performances, marking a significant achievement in public health awareness efforts across the state, informed a press release by the organisation.

The Initiative commenced on November 17, 2023, at Super-Market in Dimapur and covered multiple districts before culminating on February 15, 2025, in Peren District. Throughout this extensive campaign, BZ Entertainment performed 10 impactful street plays in each participating district, effectively engaging communities with crucial information on HIV transmission, prevention, and the importance of testing.

Each performance was meticulously crafted to educate the public while addressing the critical need for HIV testing and eradicating societal stigma. The collaboration with NSACS also integrated on-site HIV testing and counseling services, provided by the Mobile Integrated Counselling and Testing Centre (MICTC) team. “This ensured that audiences not only gained awareness but also had access to confidential testing and support services.

To further enhance accessibility to HIV-related resources, BZ Entertainment displayed the contact details of District Programme Officers (DPOs) at each event.

The campaign reached key districts across Nagaland, including Dimapur, Kohima, Niuland, Chümoukedima, Tseminyu, Noklak, Kiphire, Peren, and Tuensang. Each performance was met with enthusiastic engagement, reflecting the community’s growing awareness and willingness to address this critical public health issue.

BZ Entertainment also added that it continues to showcase the transformative power of art and culture in driving societal change. By leveraging street plays as a medium to engage and educate, the organization remains dedicated to creating a lasting impact on public health awareness in Nagaland. With the successful completion of this initiative, BZ Entertainment further cements its role as a key advocate in HIV education and awareness.
