District Administration of Phek along with SAKALP- DHEW in collaboration with Sakhi One Stop Centre, Phek observed the International Day for Elimination of Violence against Women cum launching program of Sixteen Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence at Town Council Hall, Phek on November 25.
In his keynote address, Rhosietho Nguori, Deputy Commissioner, Phek who is also the Chairperson of the District Level Community, Mission Shakti discouraged the tendency of looking down on women by men in totality and also opposed digital violence that exists in the present society.
According to the DC, digital violence is becoming more challenging than physical violence for which he advised parents to monitor those internet contents watches by children. Therefore, he said that every responsible citizen should continue to maintain mindset of equality amongst men and women throughout one’s life and urged upon the stakeholders to give responsible effort during sixteen days of Activism program for elimination of gender-based violence against women beginning from 25th November.
Guest Speaker, Dr. Pritpal Kaur, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Phek spoke about God’s creation of men and women with biological difference, and she however justified on gender equality in terms of jobs and opportunity. Dr. Kaur then informed that cyber crimes against women had gone beyond imagination, where more than 2.5 lacs cases are registered in the NCR Portal related to digital violence against women alone. She therefore, urged upon men to change their mindset and shared cyber crime helpline No. 1930 for report.
Sakulu Lohe brightened up the program with her melodious song.
Menu-u Tsuhah, CA Shaki- One Stop Centre proposed the vote of thanks. The program was chaired by Vileno K. Thisa, District Mission Coordinator, DHEW, Phek.
Altogether sixty participants from line departments, civil societies, Churches and NGOs attended the program. It concluded with signature campaign under the theme- He For She.

Niuland:
The District Hub for Empowerment of Women, under the aegis of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), organized a significant programme at Nikhekhu Village, Niuland, on November 25, to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, which is taking place from November 25 to December 10.
The event was a crucial step in raising awareness about the importance of eliminating violence against women and promoting gender equality. A gathering of 50 enthusiastic youth participants attended the programme, demonstrating their keen interest in the cause.

Kelengunuo Solo, EAC, graced the occasion as the keynote speaker, shedding light on the theme and emphasizing the need for collective action to address this pressing issue.
Meluri:

Observation of International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women Cum Launching of 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence, with the Theme “UNITE to End Digital Violence against all Women”, was organised by the District Administration and Sakhi-one Stop Centre under Mission Shakti, Meluri on November 25 at DC’s Conference hall, Meluri.
SDO (C) Meluri, Sakuchingmak in his keynote address stressed about the important role and function of the Mission Shakti one stop centre (OSC). He also said that Church is the most important platform to protect and prevent women against violence in our society.
Guest Speaker for Gender based Violence against Women was delivered by Chiekerho Nyusou Case Worker (legal). She spoke about Domestic Violence against Women, Digital abuses, Prevention of Sexual Harassment at work places, Physical abuse and legal acts.
The programme was attended by heads of Department under Meluri district; Civil Societies Organisations; Village Council members of Meluri, Khumiasú and Riehuope; Student leaders and Church leaders of Meluri Town, Meluri Village, Khumiasü and Riehuope. Jitsiasa Nyusou, Centre Administrator, OSC, Meluri Chaired the Programme. She also led the Shakti Mission, one Stop Centre (OSC) Pledge.
