Emerging artist Asho Tep showcases pottery works at Hornbill Festival Kisama

“My fascination with pottery stems from the creative process and the satisfaction of transforming raw materials into a tangible work of art. The precision and patience required resonated with me, and I found joy in experimenting with different techniques and forms,” says 27 years old  Asho Tep from Tseminyu who is currently exhibiting his art work at the 26th Hornbill Festival’s ’Canvas of Culture’ at Kisama heritage village.

It was this fascination on the art of pottery that let Tep to pursue Fine Arts in 2023 after completing his graduation. For the young potter, the pursuit of Fine Arts has allowed him to hone his skills and explore the world of pottery further.

The Hornbill Festival, according to Tep, has been an incredible experience, where he was able to connect with like-minded individuals who share passion for pottery.

“I had some great conversations and learned a lot from the people I met. I had a great time interacting with the visitors and showcasing my work in the field of Pottery,” he shares.

 

Tep aspires to become a renowned Potter, dedicated to imparting knowledge and skills to the younger generation. He also hopes focus on the significance of perseverance, diligence, and unwavering dedication.

“I aim to inspire and demonstrate that with unrelenting passion and steadfast commitment, one’s dreams can be realised, leading to a fulfilling life,” adds Tep.
