Chief Minister holds review meeting for Hornbill Festival

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio held a review meeting was at the Bamboo Hall, Kisama on 12th August 2022, with all the line/sectoral departments to kickstart the preparation of Hornbill Festival 2022.

Commissioner & Secretary, Kitto Zhimomi, updated on the progress of the works being done at Heritage Village for the Hornbill Festival. He also mentioned extending the festival which will involve the five new districts of the State.

Chief Minister mentioned that there should be focus on basic amenities such as providing cozy and comfortable facilities to the visitor or traveller; drinking water, food, and sanitation. He also said that tourist accommodation and facilities should be designated by the Department.

Advisor, Tourism and Art & Culture, H. Khehovi Yepthomi mentioned about the benefits of the hornbill festival and how it has been helping small business owners and helped in reviving, preserving and encouraging inter-tribal interaction.

Various Departments highlighted on the works being done presently at Kisama to give a facelift as well as to provide better amenities for the people during the festival.
