The Directorate of Employment, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship observed World Environment Day under the theme, “Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience” on the 5th June, 2024 at Kohima informed DIPR.
SavioVisa, Additional director, gave a brief explanation on the ideas to conserve and protect our environment by planting more trees and practicing afforestation. He added that this event is marked with a slogan, “Our land Our Future”. The celebration was marked by taking a pledge along with staffs and trainees of the Directorate of Employment Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship.

Joint director, H. Alongse Sangtam, also highlighted the course and practice of World Environment Day which dates back to 1973 which is being continued to the present day. He also provided descriptions on the theme “Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience,” and further added that this year was the hottest weather ever recorded which stressed on the issue of climate change.
