ENPO convenes emergency CEC meeting at Mon town on Nov 16

Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO) has convened an emergency central executive council (CEC) meeting at Mon town on 16 November 2022.

The emergency CEC meeting is being convened in view of the urgent state of affairs and as resolved during the ENPO-CEC meeting at Tuensang headquarter on 14 October 2022 to hold another emergency CEC meeting in regard to taking the demand for Frontier Nagaland forward.

The November 16 CEC meeting will be reaffirming the ENPO August 26 and October 14 resolutions, which are to abstain from participating in the State and Central elections, to demand resignation of all the 20 MLAs in the event of no early response from the Government of India and further, to abstain from participating in the upcoming State Hornbill Festival 2022 at Kisama Heritage Village.

The Chief Minister on November 5 had convened a meeting with the Legislators of the Eastern Nagaland in the presence of the Ministers and Advisors, Chief Secretary, Advisor Tourism and Art and Culture and department officials, Director General of Police and Home Commissioner to discuss issues related to the participation of cultural troupes of the seven tribes from the Eastern Nagaland.

Sources informed that the government is appealing to the ENPO to withdraw it’s October 14 resolution and participate in the Hornbill Festival. The ENPO CEC meeting will also be discussing this matter and a decision is likely to be taken during the meeting.

The ENPO has directed all ENPO Executives, CEC members of the respective seven Tribal Bodies, Eastern Nagaland Legislature Union (ENLU) members, Talk Team, ENPO Advisors, Executive Secretary – Chang Baptist Lashong Thangyen (CBLT)/ Khiamniungan Baptist Churches Association (KBCA)/ Konyak Baptist Bumeinok Bangjum (KBBB)/ Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA)/ United Sangtam Baptist Lithroti Ashimükhong (USBLA) / Tikhir Baptist Biti Atükhianti (TBBA)/ Yimkhiung Baptist Borü Amukhongto (YBBA), Memorandum Signatories, President and three members from Eastern Nagaland Gazetted Officers’ Association (ENGOA) along with Federating Unit President & Secretary – CGOU/ KGOU/ KGOA/ PGOA/ SGOU/ TGOU/ YGOA, President and three members from Eastern Nagaland Women’s Organisation (ENWO) along with Federating Unit President and Secretary CTS/ KMH/ KNSK/ Phomla Hoichem/ AST/ TWU/ YWO, President and three members from ENSF along with Federating Unit President & Secretary- CCSU/ KSU/ KSU (Konyak)/ PSC/ USSC/TSU/ USSC/ YAA, President and three members from Eastern Nagaland Gaon Buras Union (ENGBU), President and three members from Eastern Nagaland Dobashi Union (ENDBU), and President and Secretary from Sub Units.

Besides, the ENPO has also invited any like-minded ENPO members to attend the CEC meeting with proper consultation with their respective tribal bodies.
