Tuensang DC, SP conduct joint meeting in Noksen HQ

Noksen: Damaged Bhumji Bridge over Dikhu River a key point of interest during inspection

Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, the Deputy Commissioner of Tuensang, and Kanchan Kumar Kandpal, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Tuensang, visited the Sub-Divisional Office (C) Office in Noksen on Thursday, where they held a joint meeting with the councils of Noksen, Yangpi, and Longra villages, along with nursing mothers from neighboring villages of Noksen HQ. The meeting took place at the Conference Hall of DB’s Court in Noksen, DIPR said.

During the meeting, DC Tuensang highlighted the concept of creating a District Hub for Empowering Women (DHEW). She also emphasized the importance of eradicating the drug menace in the villages and encouraged the citizens to work together to establish drug-free villages. Such efforts, she noted, would be a blessing for the area and its villages.

SP Tuensang, Kanchan Kumar Kandpal, also addressed the gathering and shared insights about the ongoing fight against drug-related issues in the state. He called upon the citizens to assist in tracking down drug peddlers, emphasizing that a collaborative approach is necessary to control this menace effectively.

As part of the mission “Shakti,” the Department of Health and Family Welfare (DHEW) in Tuensang, along with the chairperson and Deputy Commissioner, engaged in various activities. These activities included the felicitation of girl children and conducting spot registrations for the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY). Additionally, training sessions for Anganwadi and ASHA workers were organized to enhance their skills and knowledge.

The team’s visit extended to Noksen village, where they conducted inspections and assessments. One of the key points of interest was the damaged Bhumji Bridge located at the Dikhu River.
