Zunheboto District Disaster Management Authority (ZDDMA) held its Monsoon Preparedness cum, first quarterly (ZDDMA) meeting at DC’s Conference Hall, Zunheboto, on 7th June, 2024. Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS, Deputy Commissioner and Chairman DDMA, Zunheboto, chaired the meeting, informed DIPR.
He highlighted that the main purpose of the meetings is to formulate action plans by all the concerned departments under Zunheboto district on disaster related matters and to be prepared for any impending disasters. The DC also directed departments to take stock on the available quantities of medicines and food-stock in the district to be utilized in case of disaster hit situations, to identify hazardous areas and sign up awareness boards in various locations for public safety.

The Deputy Commissioner further appealed to the citizens of the district for restriction on public activities in and around the river banks in order to mitigate any loss of lives and materials during the monsoon season because of the active and frequent flash floods being reported from various sources.
