The weeklong 66th Kohima Village Sports Association (KVSA) meet 2024 concluded on January 20 at Kewhimia Ground, Kohima.
In the week long meet, Tsütuonuomia Khel topped the medals’ tally with 47 medals followed by Lhisemia Khel securing 40 medals, Pfüchatsumia Khel with 28 medals and, Dapfhütsumia Khel secured 21 medals.
Winning four gold and one silver medals, Neiketoulie Belho bagged the men’s individual champion title and Dziesengunuo Solo with four gold and one silver was awarded the women’s individual champion.

In the wrestling meet held on the final day, Kezhaseluo-o Pienyü from D.Khel emerged as the champion. Menuosetuo Yiese from D Khel was adjudged the first runner up while Khrietsonyü Whuorie from T.Khel and Vizakietuo Suohu from T.Khel secured the second and third runner up respectively.
The team winners were D. Khel (first) and P. Khel (second).

This year a total of 27 new records were made.

The closing function was chaired by Neibou Sekhose. During the weeklong meet, more than 600 sportspersons from Tsütuonuomia, Lhisemia, Dapfhütsumia and Pfüchatsumia khel of Kohima village competed for top honours in volleyball, basketball, football, Naga wrestling, Cross Country race, Chess, Badminton, cricket , shooting ,Table Tennis and athletics.
KVSA was initiated in 1944 with the aim to foster friendship and unity among the villagers.
