Kohima: Athawale expresses intention to increase RPI’s seat count in the next Nagaland elections

Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr Ramdas Athawale, has expressed confidence in the BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) winning the upcoming General Elections with approximately 400 seats. The MoS stated this while addressing a press conference at de Oriental Grand, Kohima on Thursday.

Athawale also asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was poised to secure a third term as the leader of India and emphasized his Party’s (Republican Party of India) support for Modi and the BJP. He dismissed the INDIA bloc, stating that it lacks the necessary power, and boldly claimed that the Congress is unlikely to secure even 40 seats.

Talking about RPI, Athawale said that his Party is commitment to the overall development of the tribal people and is dedication to working for the welfare of SC/ST, minorities and all community segments. He stressed the importance of striving for social and economic equality for all communities in Nagaland.

The President of RPI also noted that in the 2023 State elections, his Party contested for eight seats and secured two MLAs. He acknowledged the contributions of RPI(A)’s MLAs Y Lima Onen Chang and Imtichoba and also expressed the intention to increase their seat count in the next state elections.
