During the Kiphire DPDB meeting held on Thursday, the Deputy Commissioner John Tsulise Sangtam underscored the concerns over the setback in the education sectors in the district due to lack of teachers of different subjects and poor infrastructure. He mentioned that the department has forwarded a letter recently handed by the student community to the proper channel and have shared deep concerns to the government for immediate intervention.

The recent calamity witnessed due to heavy rain in the district was also taken up by the DC who directed all the concern departments to immediately intervene, give relief and aid to the victim families through proper channels.
In this regard, Tsalise also advised the EE (PWD) and (R&B), National Highway Kiphire for prompt action.
He also cautioned the HoDs to be sincere in their official duties and to be regular to handle their respective responsibilities as required by the government and the public at large.
Other subjects discussed at the DPDB meeting were proposal for upgradation of BC Olive School Kiphire, Society Registration of Old-Monger Students’ Union.
Additionally, the proposal for creation of CDPO (Child development Project officer) office at Longmatra Hq had been directed to apply for the said matter through proper channel, meanwhile DAO Agri and DFO Fishery Department were directed by the board to submit proper DPR (detail project report) for proposal in construction of new fishery pond and financial aid for agriculture cultivation at Zingki river under Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS).
Another important agenda on the desk included the formation of ‘Officers Club Kiphire’ which was suggested by SDO Civil HQ Longtiba. The DPDB members deliberated at length and agreed upon to form the club. DC John Tsulise also encouraged the club, stating that it would bring more closeness and socialising among the department officers in Kiphire further assuring to extend support towards the club.
Following members were inducted as the office bearers – D Robin ADC HQ Kiphire as Convenor, and Longtiba SDO Civil, Lipichum LRD, Dr Holiba, Dr Tsulise, EE PHED, DSO Sports and Youth Resources and Asst. Conservator of Forest as members of the forum.
