Deputy Speaker NLA Yangseo Sangtam inaugurates Sub-Centre and Mithun Project in Khongjiri village

Kiphire: The deputy speaker acknowledged the leaders of Khongjiri area, the villagers and the Pungro administration and medical establishment for extending all possible help in making the project a reality

Deputy Speaker Nagaland Legislative Assembly Yangseo Sangtam today inaugurated Sub-Centre and Mithun Project in Khongjiri village, Kiphire.

The programme was attended by partymen, elders of the area, village elders and well-wishers.

Speaking at the program, the deputy speaker acknowledged the leaders of Khongjiri area, villagers and the Pungro administration and medical establishment for extending all possible help in making the project a reality.

He also expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Minister H&FW S Pangnyu Phom, and Advisor V&AH R Khing for having the confidence and setting up the Sub-Centre and Mithun Project in Khongjiri village.

Disclosing more development activities, Sangtam said the project for rearing honey bees is also in process and likely to be set up in the area soon, He sought the cooperation from the area people for the work in development.

He further sent season greetings to people, calling on them to live in harmony.

Dr Sikhu Torechu, MO CHC Pungro, also spoke on the occasio and stated that any development land should be made available and development should not bring misunderstanding.

He also expressed gratitude to the deputy speaker for bringing development in far flung areas like Khongjiri which, he said, has given hope to improve health sector in the area.

M Lochionh Peter, 2nd GB Khongjiri village, expressed gratitude to the deputy speaker for his tireless efforts given to the village and its area and to Minister H&FW S Phangnyu Phom, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Advisor V&AH R Khing, Principal Director H&FW, Director H&FW, Director V&AH) and its staff for taking the trouble in opening the Sub-Centre and Mithun Project.

He also added that there are instances where people lost their lives in search of a single medicine and the Sub-Centre will save hundreds of lives.

The GB also stated that the main source of income for the people of the area is Mithun rearing and that people have sustained a living by doing so. The inauguration of the Mithun Project is like the arrival of a saviour in Khongjiri village, he added.

Azho Paul, Village Council Chief, also spoke at the occasion.
