Felicitation programme for HSLC/HSSLC achievers of DEF Kohima Police Personnel’s children held

A felicitation programme to honour the academic accomplishments of 97 students—children of DEF Kohima Police personnel—who excelled in the HSLC/HSSLC 2025 examinations was held on May 6. The program was held at the SP Office Conference Hall, Kohima.

The event aimed to celebrate their hard work, inspire continued academic dedication, and acknowledge the supportive role of their families and the police community in their success, informed a press release by the Additional Superintendent of Police & PRO, Kohima Police.

Among the achievers, Takayuba Ao, son of UBC Imlinungsang Ao and a student of Model Higher Secondary School, Kohima, stood out for securing the 9th rank In the Commerce stream. He was felicitated with a cash award of Rs. 10,000, while the remaining 96 students received Rs. 1,000 each as a token of appreciation.

The programme, chaired by Addl. Superintendent of Police, Kohima, featured a motivational address by the Teisovise Metha, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Kohima.

In his speech, he commended the students for their perseverance and urged them to pursue future endeavors with the same diligence and integrity. He emphasized the importance of education as a foundation for societal contribution and extended heartfelt wishes for their continued success in academics and beyond. Johnny M. Patton, Dy. SP (R), Kohima also delivered a short talk on how to be successful in life.

The event concluded with a prayer by Rev. Vesotsü Rhakho, Pastor of PUBC, followed by light refreshments and informal interactions. The gathering not only celebrated academic excellence but also reinforced the DEF Kohima Police’s commitment to fostering a supportive environment for the holistic growth of its personnel’s families.

The department expressed pride in the achievers and optimism for their future, hoping they would emerge as role models and leaders, carrying forward the values of discipline and service instilled by their families.
