Highlighting the modest origins of the association and the significance of the accolades, Zumu mentioned that the Association has devoted significant efforts over the past seven years to promote strength athletics—a sport centered on lifting heavy weights and accomplishing remarkable displays of strength. Zumu stressed the importance of these activities in addressing the prevailing unhealthy lifestyle in their society, which has led to various health issues such as diabetes, high blood pressure, stress, anxiety, and obesity. He emphasized that these initiatives aimed to promote fitness and expressed optimism about their state’s success in national and international championships. Additionally, he expressed the association’s enthusiasm to participate in upcoming competitions, striving to secure medals not only at the state level but also on the national stage.

The Northeast Strongmen Championship 2023 was conducted by the RAW group in collaboration with the Assam Strongman and Amateur Sports Association, under the Indian Strongman Sports Federation, at Sonaram Field in Guwahati on December 10.
