PM Modi launches ‘Karmayogi Saptah’ – National Learning Week 2024 for civil servants

New Delhi: NLW aims to create human resources that would become driving force of country’s development

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘Karmayogi Saptah’ – National Learning Week at Dr Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi on 19th October 2024.

First launched in September 2020, Mission Karmayogi envisions a future-ready civil service rooted in Indian ethos, with a global perspective. The National Learning Week (NLW) will be the largest event of its kind providing fresh impetus towards individual and organisational capacity development for Civil Servants. This initiative will stimulate a renewed commitment to learning and development. NLW aims to create a “One Government” message, align everyone with national goals and promote lifelong learning.

NLW will be dedicated to learning through various forms of engagement by individual participants and Ministries, Departments, and Organizations. During NLW, each Karmayogi will commit to achieving a target of at least 4 hours of competency-linked learning. The participants may complete the targeted hours through a mix of individual role-based modules on iGOT, webinars (public lectures/policy masterclasses) by eminent persons. Eminent speakers will deliver talks on their areas of prominence and help them work towards citizen-centric delivery in a much more effective manner. During the week, the Ministries, Departments and Organisations will also organise seminars and workshops to enhance domain specific competencies.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said that the goal is to create human resources that would become the driving force of our country’s development. He underlined that the new learnings and experiences during the National Learning Week will provide strength and help in improving working systems which will help us achieve the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Prime Minister stressed the importance of balancing both and said that if we successfully utilise Artificial Intelligence to drive progress for Aspirational India, it could lead to transformative change. He spoke about two AIs, one being the Artificial Intelligence and the other, Aspirational India and stressed the importance of balancing both for transformative change.

Speaking on information equality, he emphasised the need for civil servants need to keep themselves abreast with latest technological developments so as to meet the rising standards, wherein Mission Karmayogi can prove to be of help.
